Garden waste compost bin (Brown bin)

Your garden waste compost bin (brown bin) will only be emptied if you have subscribed to the garden waste service.

There is a £35 annual subscription charge for brown bin collections.

What you can put in your brown bin

Ash (wood) Bark
Biodegradable / compostable bags (must have the seedling logo). Branches (cut up)
Christmas tree (real and cut up) Coffee grinds
Cut flowers Egg shells
Fish shells Flowers (shop bought)
Food waste Grass cuttings
Hay and straw Hedge cuttings
Leaves Moss
Pet Bedding for vegetarian pets (hay and straw) Plants (shop bought)
Prunings Shrubs and flowers
Small branches (cut to fit) Twigs
Weeds Tea bags

 

What you cannot put in your brown bin

Cardboard of any kind Shredded Paper
Plastics including carrier bags Pet bedding or waste from meat eating pets
Soil or turf
